Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man attraction at Islands of Adventure is widely acknowledged as the peak of technical and experiential achievement in the theme park industry. The attraction is a hybrid ride combining special roving motion vehicles with 3-D projection, elaborate physical sets and both practical and tactile effects. Eleven years after opening, it is still considered the best and most advanced theme park ride ever constructed, and received a THEA award for Outstanding Attraction.

Phil Hettema, as the Senior Vice President of Universal Creative, led the design team for the attraction from concept through opening.
