Universal's Islands of Adventure

Recognized as the “Theme Park for the 21st Century” and called “America’s hottest theme park” by U.S. News and World Report, this destination park achieved an unsurpassed blend of immersive theming and rich environmental texture with cutting edge technology. Phil Hettema led the concept team for the entire UIOA project. That team developed the layout, selected and developed environmental themes, as well as over 15 major shows and attractions. The shows and attractions for this project ranged from multi-million dollar rides to intimate interactive educational exhibits, gaming centers, and interactive discovery areas. Islands of Adventure received a THEA award for Outstanding New Theme Park of 2000.
